The operator also handed out branded eye masks across Greater Manchester, and also visited local businesses handing out sleep kits which included sleep spray, branded chamomile tea bags, eye masks and Silentnight Hippo cuddly toys.

Arriva North West’s Head of Marketing, Lisa Pearson, said of the partnership and the National Sleep Month celebrations: “At the end of last year we read some research suggesting that commuters miss out on around 55 hours of sleep due to traffic and delays. Taking to our Twitter we found 90% of our followers don’t think they get enough sleep and 62% were keen to get more.

“Our partnership with Silentnight aims to support the people of the North West and help them get more sleep by providing them with information on how a commute can actually aid sleep if they use the time to relax and unwind.”
