The latest round of London bus tenders been announced by Transport for London (TfL), with Arriva London South as the big winner.

Route 2/N2 was re-awarded to Arriva London South and will utilise new Euro 6 hybrid double-deckers, with a PVR of 26. The operator also won the 19/N19 (PVR 28, new Euro 6 hybrid double-deckers) and the 249 (PVR 13, Euro 6 hybrid double-deckers) both from London General.

All three of Arriva’s contract wins commence on April 1, 2017.

Route 455 was awarded to Metrobus, which will take over from Abellio London. The service will utilise 2011 Euro 5 diesel single-deckers, with a PVR of 11, and commences on March 4, 2017.

Routes 624/628 were re-awarded to London Central with 2010/2011 Euro 5 diesel double-deckers, and a PVR of four. The operator also retained the 625, utilising similar vehicles with a PVR of two. Both these new contracts begin on December 31, 2016, ready for the first school day in 2017.
