ArrivaClick has teamed up with 12millionminds to help show how it’s on demand service can help customers with Autism getting around
ArrivaClick recently had the pleasure of a visit from the Wall family with their autistic child, Alfie. Arriva welcomed the family into its Green Lane Depot and the control room of ArrivaClick. Alfie loves buses, trams, maps and can name all the bus manufacturers with models that were in the depot.
Alfie like many children his age has a concern regarding the environment, the air pollution and the traffic congestion in and around Liverpool. Alfie knows that the move to ride-sharing buses will be a great environmental step for Arriva.
Robert Sykes, Senior Product Owner at Arriva Specialist Mobility told Minibus: “Alfie and the Wall family were introduced to us by 12MillionMinds, a community interest company that supports families with their emotional health across the North West. “12millionminds has been participating in projects with autistic families for companies to prove they are autistic friendly by having autistic families try out their services.
“As with all bus companies, ArrivaClick wants to be as inclusive as possible, we are aware that not all disabilities are visible and it was a great opportunity to prove we provide something for everyone.
“It is so important to understand our passengers and their needs; we spend a lot of time looking at feedback and meeting passengers face to face, and we welcome any feedback positive or negative as it helps us grow as a business and a brand.
“When we hear people’s stories we think how can we help. What technology or what process would solve or help this problem? There is nothing better than being able to provide a solution.
“We proved that not only are ArrivaClick buses autistic friendly, they are Alfie friendly.”
