The Association of Transport Coordinating Officers (ATCO) winter conference is to be held on November 24 this year, on the theme of travel behaviour and prospects for its change. The ATCO describe this as “a challenging theme,” elaborating: “Travel behaviour must change if we are to show that sustainable transport really can be the answer. This conference, halfway through our year, looks at the different type of motorist and change needed.”

Distinguished speakers at the conference include Elaine Rosscraig of Stagecoach UK Bus, Richard Hebditch of the Campaign for Better Transport and Bob Menzies of the Cambridgeshire guided busway. The sessions have thought provoking titles and guiding definitions, taken from descriptions of transport users by Dr Jillian Anable of the centre for transport research at Aberdeen University.
