Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Company (B&H) has equipped its entire 265-strong bus fleet with free WiFi.
The WiFi, supplied by Icomera and utilising the company’s M340 boxes, has been fitted on both the Brighton and Hove fleet of 265, and the 143 Metrobus vehicles in service.
Martin Harris, Managing Director of the Go-Ahead-owned operator, said: “This initiative is very significant for us as it’s one of the key ways we can encourage people to get out of their cars and onto buses as it allows passengers to use their time productively while travelling.
“We’ve got to start thinking differently as a society about cars. Travelling by bus will always be a greener way to travel. And congestion is one of the biggest challenges facing our towns and cities. We need to get people out of their cars and onto buses and bikes. I’m delighted this investment will make it more attractive and viable to travel by bus.
“We’re all so time-poor these days that we can do without losing more of it to commuting. What’s more, travelling by bus means we’re not clogging up the streets and the air with cars and their emissions.”
