Arriva North West helped enthusiasts mark 100 years of Birkenhead transport, reports Nick Larkin
A cavalcade of preserved Birkenhead vehicles to mark 100 years of buses in the town retraced the original route and took pride of place at one of Britain’s oldest working depots.
Arriva North West arranged for the buses to line up at its Laird Street depot, opened for trams in 1901. Most of the buildings were demolished in 2003, but the office block, dating from 1903, is still in use.
