The latest London bus tender results have been announced, with Blue Triangle and Arriva London North gaining new services.
The EL1 (PVR 17), EL2 (PVR 15) and EL3 (PVR 14) were all awarded to Blue Triangle, with the operator retaining EL1 and EL2 and winning EL3 from Stagecoach East London. All three will use New Routemasters, 46 in total. CBW understands that this is the first time the New Routemasters will be used entirely outside Central London.
Service 48 has been awarded to Arriva London North (from Stagecoach East London) and will utilise Euro 6 New Routemasters, with a PVR of 22. The operator also retained the 325 (PVR 12) using existing 2010 Euro 5 diesel single-deckers, along with the 24 hour 242 service, which has a PVR of 20 and will utilise new Euro 6 hybrid double-deckers.
Stagecoach East London retained three services – the 97 (PVR 22, 2009 Euro 4 diesel double-deckers), the 215 (PVR five, 2011 Euro 5 diesel double-deckers) and the 277 24 hour service (PVR 25, new Euro 6 hybrid double-deckers, aside from five 2011 Euro 5 hybrids). Stagecoach Selkent also maintained control of the 273 (PVR nine) which will use new Euro 6 diesel single-deckers, as well as the 380 (PVR 14, new Euro 6 diesel single-deckers).
Tower Transit has retained service 58, PVR 17, with 2010 Euro 5 diesel double-deckers. Three of the buses will be new Euro 6 hybrids.
CT Plus was re-awarded the 388, which will require new Euro 6 hybrid double-deckers (PVR 15).
Contracts will commence on the following dates:
- January 14, 2017: 273;
- January 21, 2017: 380 and 388;
- February 18, 2017: EL1, EL2 and EL3;
- February 25, 2017: 48, 242 and 277; and
- March 4, 2017: 58, 97, 215 and 325.
