Angela Youngman investigates the city of Bath to see what it can offer coach operators and their passengers
As the only city in the UK that is a UNESCO World Heritage site living museum, it is no surprise that visitor numbers to Bath are high. Around six million people visit Bath each year, while more than 1.3 million people visit just one site – the Roman Baths. For coach operators and drivers this popularity results in considerable pressure on parking facilities.
There are, quite simply, no facilities for parking within Central Bath, and many of its attractions including the Roman Baths have no parking, drop off or pick up facilities. Coach drivers can pick up and drop off at the Riverside Coach Park in Avon Street on a 24 hour basis, but can only wait 30 minutes. There is no return allowed within one hour between 0800 and 1800hrs, although overnight parking is available free of charge outside of these times. […]
