Shakeil Austin, aged 20, had a provisional licence at the time but went on to steal two double-deckers and take them on joyrides, even picking up two passengers and allowing one of them to drive the bus.

The man, who had been employed at a local bus garage, was let go after working only a week.

At Willesden Green magistrates the bus thief admitted to eight offences after inflicting £5,000 worth of damage.
