Two new Mellor Strata-bodied Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 516 Euro VI low-floor buses have recently been delivered to Lincolnshire County Council to operate on its Call Connect network – the County Council’s demand-responsive transport solution to provide rural communities with a bus service.
One vehicle will be operated by Sleafordian Coaches for services in and around Sleaford, whilst the other will be operated by Transport Connect for a route between Grantham and Sleaford.
Jane Dransfield, Area Sales Manager for Mellor, said: “The Council chose to add more Mellor vehicles to its fleet due to the excellent reliability, build quality and aftersales support. Approximately one-fifth of their existing fleet is made up of Mellor buses, so it’s great to see that our customers value our products and want to come back for more.”
Steve Roberts, Fleet Engineer for Lincolnshire County Council, added: “It can get very busy at the Council during various points throughout the year, so having the helpful team at Mellor on hand during this process has been a great benefit.
“What’s impressed me more than anything is the excellent build quality of their vehicles and also their technical expertise. We’re very happy with the vehicles and we hope the passengers will be too.”
