A driver of a Carmel coach is to stand trial at a crown court after a crash which killed two of his passengers.

59-year-old Martin Chun pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to causing the deaths of 59-year-old Margaret Luxton and 68-year-old grandmother Carol Muldoon.

He also denied a second charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving to four passengers in the same alleged incident in May 2014 at Morval near Looe. The Carmel Coaches Plaxton-bodied Iveco coach was taking around 50 elderly passengers on an Age Concern organised trip from Exmouth to Looe when the crash happened on the A387 road.

Mr Chun has been granted unconditional bail until the date of his trial, which is set for August 15, after a pre-trial review on June 6.
