Doug Park, Compak’s Production Manager, recently visited the Van Hool plant in Lier to sign-off the first manual ramp installations undertaken by the manufacturer. They have been specified for a batch of vehicles for delivery to Scotland – which suggests they are the hydrogen fuel cell buses earmarked for Aberdeen.

Compak’s much travelled employee was also scheduled to visit China at the end of May with the firm’s Operation Manager Gerald Laing, to act as advisor to the BYD company for the installation of powered ramps on buses destined for the UK. Two BYD electric buses are to be operated in London on an evaluation programme with Go-Ahead.
