Go-Ahead Group-owned Damory Coaches of Blandford, Dorset, has responded to financial pressures facing local schools by introducing significantly larger vehicles to its fleet.
Adam Keen, General Manager at Damory Coaches, said: “We are all too aware of shrinking school budgets and bigger classes, so we’ve adapted our fleet accordingly.
“Schools and other organisations can now opt for our much larger 70-seater air-conditioned coaches. The fact that we’re able to transport more pupils in just one of these new vehicles means those who book us will save valuable resources to put towards additional activities.
“This greater value for money will hopefully allow our customers to take their classes on bigger and better educational outings, and that can only be a good thing for the communities in which we operate.
“With six extra-large coaches available for hire, Damory’s offering is unique here in Dorset and I’m delighted we’re able to work with schools – helping ease the financial strain faced by so many across the county.”
Damory celebrated the delivery of its new vehicles this week with teachers and pupils at The Purbeck School in Wareham.
Simon Holmes, from The Purbeck School, added: “The Purbeck School continues to appreciate the high standard of travel provided by Damory.
“The impressive newly-refurbished fleet means that our students will travel in even greater comfort in future.
“The extra seating capacity is also a wonderful bonus, allowing more of us to journey together on fewer coaches.”
