Deirdre Brown, former director of coach operator Eddie Brown Tours, has established her own holiday business and joined forces with Christopher Kingsley at coach tour wholesaler Tour Providers.

Eddie Brown Tours was one of Yorkshire’s oldest travels firms, having been established in 1949 when Eddie and the late Gwen Brown started the business in the Blacksmiths Shop in Helperby.

The firm was put into liquidation in December 2014.

Deirdre has since teamed up with Winns Coaches of Northallerton, which has added Deirdre Brown Travel to the livery of one of its vehicles.

Deirdre will run Tour Providers’ new northern office near York and will work with coach operators in the northern third of England and Scotland.

Christopher Kingsley, founder of Tour Providers said: “Deirdre is well known among Operators and has 30 years’ experience packaging coach holidays, so naturally wants to remain immersed in the industry.

“I have been finding it difficult to adequately service operators in the far north of England & Scotland so Deirdre establishing Tour Providers Northern Office is another potentially important step forward for the company.”

Deirdre will start visiting and contacting Operators in time to help with their 2016 programmes, as well as pursuing the Deirdre Brown Travel business and consultancy work.
