Stagecoach East has contracted out operation of its route 904 Peterborough-Huntingdon service to Dews Coaches of Somersham, reports Steven Knight. The route operates every 90 minutes Monday to Friday daytime.

Dews took over operation of the route, which was previously operated from Stagecoach East’s Fenstanton depot, on 30 May. Stagecoach East has placed two Busway-liveried Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse single-deckers (21225/26, AE09 GYV/GYW) with Dews to operate the route, which remains part of the local Stagecoach network and on which the full range of Stagecoach tickets remain valid. Dews is, however, using its own Tixiom ticket machines rather than the VIX machines used by Stagecoach.

With only two Stagecoach vehicles placed with Dews and with a PVR of two, use of vehicles from the Dews fleet will need to be made on occasions. On 7 June 2023 Dews-branded Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse 2 AE12 FGN was in use.
