Pelican Area Sales Manager Amelia Crump. PELICAN

Fourth generation passion

Pelican is a name which is becoming well-known in the coach and bus sectors. Marking International Women’s Day on 8 March, the business highlighted the passion and enthusiasm of one of its female staff; Amelia Crump represents the fourth generation of the established Castleford-based family business, and is passionate about encouraging more women into the transport industry.

Speaking about the importance of encouraging more women to join the transport sector, Amelia said: “It’s so important to encourage more women into the transport industry: women make up 47% of the UK workforce, yet currently only 20% of workers in transport are women. This needs to change. Women can see things from a different perspective, which will help drive innovation and encourage positive change.
