Stagecoach has introduced a new bed reservation system on its megabusGold.com overnight sleepercoach routes in the UK.
The new online service allows passengers to reserve the kind of bed they would like – whether it is an upper bunk or a lower bunk and whether they want a bed on its own or next to a travelling companion – when booking their tickets, for no extra cost (simply the price of their ticket and 50p booking fee).
Under the new system, passengers travelling on overnight sleepercoach services – which have lie-flat beds – also have the option to reserve two adjacent lower bunks for single occupancy, if they would prefer more space, for an additional fee of £25.
The megabusGold.com overnight sleepercoach services offer WiFi, complimentary refreshments, power sockets and an on-board toilet, as well as lie-flat beds with a fleece blanket and pillow. They operate between London and 11 locations in Scotland – including Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Cumbernauld, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Inverness and Aviemore – with one service in each direction, seven nights a week.
megabusGold.com was launched in May 2013 and operates using specially designed Van Hool double-decker coaches which have 53 seats that convert into 41 beds.
