Eurotunnel coach traffic up in August

Coach traffic for the month of August 2016 on Eurotunnel was up 3% compared to a year previously – with 3,325 carried, according to the cross-channel operator’s latest statistics.

For the same period, the number of cars transported was down 3%, while truck shuttle demand rose 24%.

Overall, in the period January to August 2016, coach traffic fell 10% compared to the same period in 2015 – from 40,249 to 36,194. Trucks were up 12%, while cars rose 1% – the latter includes motorcycles, vehicles with trailers, caravans and camper vans.
