Swanage Railway Company is hosting a number of events in 2012.
From September 7–9 the Grand Steam Gala & Classic Transport Rally features visiting steam locomotives running alongside Swanage-based locomotives in intensive all-steam action.
Alongside the Grand Steam Gala is a Vintage Transport Rally at Harmans Cross. The event also runs for three days and is accompanied by evening entertainment, bar and refreshments.
From October 27 – November 4 it hosts a week of half-term fun on and around the railway with steam trains and entertainment.
Attractions include regular steam and diesel train services, exciting brake van rides at Swanage, colourful face painting at Corfe Castle and on-train entertainment.
There is a coach pick-up point by Swanage station and special packages are available for group visits.
