AUSTRALIA
A demonstrator electric bus produced by Australian bus builder Custom Denning is en route to the UK and expected to arrive in January, with three more due in February. Custom Denning is owned by UK-born Scott Dunn, who is also Chief Executive of the Rotala group. The Australian manufacturer has been working on plans to offer a full-size electric single-deck bus in the UK market. Displayed in Australia in October, the 12m bus has been built from stainless steel and features many standard European components. Custom Denning believes that its product can be competitive in the UK market, as it says it is in Australia, where it competes with buses from BYD and Yutong. CBW understands that the three buses delivered in February will go to a Rotala company.
