First Travel Solutions (FTS) will play their part in the upcoming Glasgow 2018 European Championships, transporting athletes and officials across Scotland for the exciting, multi-sport event. The Championships will be held between 2 – 12 August, and is the moment people will proudly welcome Europe to Glasgow and Scotland, with 52 nations taking part across 12 sports and a potential TV audience of up to 1.03 billion.
Local roads and public transport are expected to be busier than usual, with thousands expected to attend events being held across the city.
FTS will transport approximately 8,500 athletes and team officials, and more than 300 technical officials across 60 services, with approximately 70 vehicles in operation per day.
FTS will also provide an integrated media transport service operating from the Media Hub to all competition venues during the Championships.
Multiple vehicles have been sourced to deliver the services from buses, coaches, midi coaches and luxury vehicles.
Expert transport consultants from FTS have been working closely with the Glasgow 2018 team for the last five months. FTS will be in Glasgow for the event, with a 50-strong ground team including coordinators and managers.
