Fuel management technology firm Merridale has an array of products in its line-up to help operators get the most out of every gallon of fuel. John Lewis speaks to the firm to find out more

Coach and bus operators usually invest in their own bulk diesel tanks. That’s just as well according to Stephen Hannan, Sales Director at Wolverhampton, West Midlands-based fuel management technology specialist Merridale; because it has become increasingly difficult for them to refuel anywhere else. “Back in 1972 there were over 30,000 publicly-accessible fuel forecourts across the UK,” he observed. “Today the total is somewhere between 7,000 and 8,000, and many of them are hypermarket sites that are not accessible to buses and coaches.
