Gwynedd-based operator Gwynfor Coaches has had to limit the number of teenagers boarding its buses, after a group of youngsters ‘seriously intimidated and spat at a driver.’

On Friday 2 August, approximately 15-20 youths ganged up on the driver on the 1830 Llanberis to Bangor service, having previously misbehaved on the way there.

“This driver is now off on sickness leave indefinitely,” the company said in a statement on Facebook.

“This was an appalling situation for the driver to have been put in, and also completely unfair on the other decent passengers who support us and regularly use the service.

“This is now a police matter; in the meantime, we will not be able to carry more than four teenagers at one time unless they are accompanied by an adult.

“Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your continued support.”
