Hungarian manufacturer Ikarus says it is ‘thrilled’ to have entered into a partnership with Yutong Bus & Coach to bid for the procurement of rigid and articulated trolleybuses recently announced by Budapest operator BKK (Budapesti Közlekedési Központ). Scheduled for delivery from 2025 to 2027, the procurement order calls for 160 trolleybuses equipped with battery-powered off-wire propulsion capability.

”We are proud to partner with Yutong, the world’s largest electric bus manufacturer, and we are confident that our combined efforts will lead to successful project implementation,” says Ikarus. “While Ikarus has a rich history of manufacturing trolleybuses in Hungary, our collaboration with Yutong reinforces our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the market and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our valued customers.”
