Johnsons of Henley-in-Arden helped transport over 1,000 Brownies and Girlguides from over Warwickshire and the West Midlands to Blackwell Adventure in Worcestershire last week for their annual international camp.

Girlguiding Warwickshire’s recent seventh International Camp came to Blackwell Adventure–  and this year, it had a circus theme complete with adventurous activities such as abseiling, zip wires and trapezes; circus skills performing; and graffiti art demonstrations. Brownies and Girlguides from all over the UK and the world were invited to attend to learn new skills and make new friends.

Johnsons transported the Brownie and Guide packs from all over Warwickshire and the West Midlands to the week-long camp, known as Arden 2014. The coach operator also transferred girls from further afield including a Guide pack from Glasgow and International packs flying in to Birmingham International and Heathrow airports.

Johnsons then provided transport throughout the event which ran from August 3 to 9 to local attractions such as Drayton Manor, West Midlands Safari Park and Edgbaston Water Sports where over 20 of Johnsons’ coaches travelled in convoy to the local attractions with a police escort.

Johnsons provided 80 vehicle hires in total over the eight days for the event and made sure ground handlers were at Blackwell Adventure to make sure the transport ran smoothly.

Gary Harridence, Private Hire Manager at Johnsons commented: “We are delighted to have successfully collaborated with Arden Camp 2014 to ensure over 1,000 youngsters have had a fun filled summer holiday.

“The event took over 18 months of careful planning to ensure it ran smoothly and has since brought in enquiries from other Scout and Girlguide groups for future camps. Our coaches looked great travelling in convoy to the local attractions and it was great to work closely with Blackwell Adventure.”
