Johnsons Coaches of Henley-in- Arden has ordered its first Euro 6 coaches – a pair of VDL Futura 2s from Moseley PCV. The 12.8m vehicles will be built to the firm’s Club Class specification, which includes reclining seats and increased leg room.
John Johnson told CBW: “It’s part of our investment plan. We test drove Moseley PCV’s Euro 6 demonstrator. We were very pleased with the drive.
“We are delighted with the product. We bought a pair of 49-seater Futura 2s this year and two 53-seater examples in 2013. We always take passengers soundings foremost, followed by feedback from drivers, couriers and workshop staff.
“Type training is becoming increasingly important for us, so a standardised fleet is important. These coaches will arrive in March and will be kept busy on our holiday and excursion programmes.
“We’ve also got two mini or midi coaches to buy. Having been to the show, we’ve yet to decide what order – and the same applies for the two service buses that we also need to buy.
“Our investment reflects our confidence in the future economic climate.”
