Arriva has confirmed that Kevin O’Connor, current Managing Director – UK Bus, is to leave his post at the end of September.

Kevin is to leave the bus sector for a new role in September

Kevin is moving away from the bus sector, leaving Iain Jago, Finance and Commercial Director at Arriva, to step in as Acting Managing Director of UK Bus on a temporary basis.

Kevin was appointed in the role back in January of 2015 following a 14-year term at G4S Cash Solutions UK and Ireland, latterly as regional managing director.

The operator has already begun the search for a long-term successor to Kevin.

Manfred Rudhart, Chief Executive Officer of Arriva Group, said: “Under Kevin’s leadership the UK Bus team has driven a customer-focused strategy which has given us a much stronger market position while innovating and positioning Arriva for the future.

“The building blocks are firmly in place for continued success and further transformation of our core bus business, as well as through providing new solutions for the passengers of tomorrow, including our pioneering demand responsive service, ArrivaClick.

“Kevin has been a valued member of the Arriva group leadership team and we thank him for his significant contribution and wish him every success in his new role.”
