Bournemouth-based Yellow Buses has launched a new private hire coach service, called Yellow Coaches.

The private hire service currently has access to 10 vehicles, which are all based at its Yeomans Way depot.

The RATPDev UK-owned company said the new business, which has been quietly running in some form since last autumn, already has a number of repeat customers and is now looking to develop further.

The coaches carry between 48 and 53 passengers each and include disabled access, toilet and washroom facilities, air-conditioning, CCTV security cameras and phone chargers.

Mike Collins, Coach Manager, said: “We are benefiting from having the infrastructure of a large bus company behind us.

“This includes the depot where our coaches are maintained by our own staff and where we have a giant washing machine for our vehicles.

“We also have some very experienced drivers who understand what customers require and expect. Clients so far include football supporters’ groups, language schools and other local organisations.

“There has also been a lot of repeat custom which is the best endorsement we can have. The response to the new service has been extremely positive and has led to us developing a larger fleet more quickly than anticipated.”
