Newbury Buses’ lead driver Paul Comley is a joint award winner for his quick thinking and rapid reaction following a recent vandal attack at the company’s Mill Lane garage.
His rapid response in liaising with colleagues at Newbury Buses’ sister base in Reading to obtain replacements for the buses put out of action – while juggling the available vehicles around to maintain the operation, has been recognised in the ‘Star of the Month’ award.
The award to Paul, 45, who has worked for the company for 22 years, includes an invitation to the annual gala presentation dinner in January.
Six buses damaged in the attack (CBW989) were repaired and back on the road within 48 hours. Police made several arrests in connection with the incident.
