Moseley in the South recently delivered an identical pair of VDL Futura FHD2 129.370MX coaches to LJ Edwards Coach Hire of Hailsham, East Sussex.

The two 12.9m vehicles are specified with 53 seats for greater legroom than the standard 57, with Prestige half leather trim and three Point seat belts.

John Edwards, owner of LJ Edwards Coach Hire, told CBW: “The coaches are performing well with no problems so far. We find the VDLs to be very reliable and good to drive, and we’re very impressed with their fuel economy.

“Both of the vehicles will be used on a variety of work including private hire and short holiday breaks. They have replaced an 03 Bova and an 02 Beulas.”

The specification of the coaches includes toilet, continental exit, fridge, water boiler, double-glazing, air-conditioning from Webasto, Audio and DVD systems displayed through two saloon monitors, pavement flood lighting, chromed front and rear light surrounds and Durabright alloy wheels.

Each coach is powered by a 370bhp DAF MX11 Euro 6 engine, coupled to a ZF EcoLife transmission with intarder. Vehicle safety systems include ABS, ASR, lane departure warning system, and automatic electronic braking system.
