GERMANY Magna Seating, part of Magna International Inc., has acquired the assets and business of Vogelsitze GmbH in Karlsruhe- Stupferich, Germany, which specialises in the development and production of seats for the bus and light train industries.
The company expects sales for 2011 to be approximately €19 million.
Magna claims the acquisition expands its global footprint and strengthens its position in the German market.
Vogelsitze’s current production customers include MAN, Mercedes- Benz, Volvo, Bombardier, VDL and GAZ.
In addition, Vogelsitze has licensed many patents to other bus seat manufacturers worldwide.
Magna is a principle designer and manufacturer of seating systems and components for the automotive industry.
