Mobile Onboard has launched the Beam bw130, which follows the recently announced Beam Mini.
The Beam bw130 now completes Mobile Onboard’s line-up of products designed to provide easy, powerful and cost-effective passenger WiFi for any size passenger service vehicle.
Designed and built by Mobile Onboard at its base in Southampton, the Beam bw130 comes in as a mid-range passenger WiFi unit specifically engineered for public transport road vehicles. With a 4G modem fitted as standard, advanced power management protection, remote management and the option of a lifetime warranty, the benefits of the Beam bw130 are significant for its sub-£500 price.
Powered by Mobile Onboard’s new operating system, beamOS, the Beam bw130 becomes a future-proof passenger WiFi solution through automatic software updates, upgrades to new functionality and upcoming integration with other Mobile Onboard products such as My Mobile Tickets, the company’s award winning mobile ticketing platform.
Matthew Poole, Managing Director of Mobile Onboard, said: “Our Beam bw200 has been a very popular passenger WiFI unit but not every operator needs all the advanced features it has to offer.
“The Beam bw130 is our answer to that, a very capable passenger WiFi unit perfect for bus service vehicles that comes in at a very competitive price point.”
Like other Beam WiFi units, the Beam bw130 features the same 10 minute installation and is designed to be portable for easy swapping between vehicles. As a self-contained WiFi unit it also has no requirement for any external antenna.
To celebrate its launch Mobile Onboard is offering the Beam bw130 with a £100 discount throughout September.
