Moseley and Scania (Great Britain) have announced that, subject to contract, they will be working together to bring the Scania Van Hool combination back to the UK market.
Scania would supply the chassis for the coach, which will be sold exclusively through the three Moseley companies – Moseley (PCV), Moseley in the South and Moseley Distributors.
Initially it is envisaged that the combination would be only available in limited numbers as a two-axle 12.2-metre Alicron variant, which typically would be configured as a 49-seater touring coach equipped with drinks facilities, air conditioning, double glazing and alloy wheels.
Karl Moseley, Managing Director of Pontefract-based Moseley (PCV), said: “All three companies are delighted at the prospect of working with Scania and our partners at Van Hool on this project and look forward to developing more models with them in the future.”
In a separate development, the Moseley companies, together with Beulas SAU of Arbucies in Spain, have reached a comprehensive distributor agreement covering the whole of the United Kingdom.
UK Commercial Director for Beulas, Alan Wilson, was tasked with sourcing a new distributor who would not only represent the Beulas name nationally in a sales sense, but have the ability to provide 24/7 coverage for parts availability.
This new agreement with the associated Moseley Companies fits Beulas’ requirements, as all three Moseley companies have their own dedicated aftersales departments with 24 hour coverage, trained workshop staff and will carry their own stock of Beulas spare parts.
Beulas together with Moseley sales staff can be found on stand J70 at Euro Bus Expo this week.
Karl Moseley said: “I am particularly pleased with this new agreement with Beulas as it complements the range of products that Moseley already represents.”
