Stagecoach Manchester has unveiled 29 new Euro 6 ADL Enviro400s, which the firm said represents an investment of £5m.

Allocated to Sharston garage, the double-deckers serve Chorlton and the south of the conurbation on routes 85 and 86.

Like more than half the current Stagecoach Manchester fleet, the vehicles are equipped with complimentary WiFi.

Stagecoach Manchester MD Christopher Bowles, said: “The new fleet of Enviro400s, the first of their type in Greater Manchester, represents a significant investment in South Manchester. The new buses will give our fleet an even more modern profile and enable passengers on our busiest services to benefit from the latest standards which the industry has to offer.”

To celebrate the launch of the new vehicles, Stagecoach Manchester will be holding a ‘Name the bus’ competition, where local school children will be asked to name the buses which will serve their area.
