New Arriva Sapphire service for Derby

Arriva Midlands has announced the launch of Sapphire Service 38, which went into service on 18 August between Derby and Sinfin.

The Sapphire-branded buses represented an investment of over £1.4m.All vehicles are equipped with power points, free WiFi, audio-visual next stop announcements and E-leather seating for customers.

The public was able to see a special display of Sapphire buses as the service was officially unveiled in Derby City Centre by Royal Lookalikes Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles and children from the local Scouts.

Alex Perry, Managing Director for Arriva Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the Sapphire brand to the area.

“The bus service will offer customers a new and improved experience. We’re confident that they will be delighted with the enhancements and we hope to encourage more people to join us on board. They really do add a bit of sparkle to people’s every day journey!”
