First Glasgow has introduced 32 new single-decker ADL Enviro200s vehicles to its fleet.
The new ADL Enviro200s form part of a total order of 75 new vehicles which is being introduced across Greater Glasgow after First Glasgow announced it was investing £14m in upgrading its fleet earlier this year.
Lanarkshire’s new single-deckers all come fitted with leather seats, CCTV and WiFi. In addition to the dedicated space for wheelchair users, they also feature extra space for pushchairs.
The buses have been delivered to local depots in Blantyre and Overton. First has confirmed they will operate on Service 226 from Hillhouse – Fairhill and Service 240 from Carluke to Glasgow.
The new buses are all fitted with Euro 6 engines.
Margaret Mayer, First Glasgow’s Business Director (Lanarkshire), said: “It’s great news for our customers to see these new vehicles take to the road. We’re working hard to improve our Lanarkshire services, with great value fares and free WiFi now onboard many buses.
“These additional vehicles underline our continuing determination to make bus travel as attractive as possible and encourage more people to ditch the car and consider catching the bus to get them where they need to go stress-free and without the worry of parking.”
