Stagecoach East Scotland has invested £3.12m in a fleet of new coaches for the company’s St Andrews to Edinburgh Xpress service.

The 12 new Plaxton Elites were introduced to the Xpress X58 and X60 routes at the end of November serving St Andrews, Leven, Kirkcaldy, Dalgety Bay, Ferrytoll Park & Ride and Edinburgh in East Scotland.

The vehicles offer free WiFi, USB ports to charge mobile devices, air-conditioning, an on-board toilet and leather reclining seats for up to 49 passengers, or 47 passengers and one wheelchair.

Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director for Stagecoach East Scotland, said: “The 12 new coaches are fitted with leather reclining seats, free WiFi, USB ports and air-conditioning to provide maximum comfort.

“It’s important that we continue investing in our fleet across East Scotland and make improvements wherever we can to continue to provide the highest level of luxury travel for our passengers.”

The vehicles join the company’s award winning Express City Connect network connecting towns and cities across Fife and into Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow and serve either or both Halbeath and Ferrytoll Park & Ride sites.
