Go North East is expanding its network with the introduction of a brand new limited-stop service. Tynedalexpress (sic) will provide a fast bus every half hour from Hexham to Newcastle, with four buses leaving Hexham between 0645 and 0744hrs. Two of the early buses will also pick up in Highford Park.

The buses will operate from Hexham to Corbridge and on to Newcastle, with one bus an hour serving Horsley and one bus an hour serving Ovington, Ovingham and Wylam.

Tom Dodds, Stakeholder Manager at Go North East, said: “The Tynedalexpress brings to the north side of the river the high standards we’ve set for our service Ten on the south side.”

The buses will feature free onboard WiFi, wheelchair and buggy spaces and low entrances, with no steps to climb to board the bus.

Tynedalexpress will also provide faster buses from Wylam, Ovingham and Ovington to both Hexham and Newcastle.

The new service has also created four new driving jobs at Go North East’s Hexham depot.

Tynedalexpress started on Monday (September 9). The full timetable can be downloaded from www.simplygo.com/news/new-tynedalexpress
