USA All tooling for the manufacture of four different shuttle bus models has been completed in record time by Green Automotive Company’s subsidiary Newport Coachworks, Inc. (NCI) and full production is underway. These shuttle buses are part of a 432 bus order from Don Brown Bus Sales, one of North America’s leading bus distributors. Completion of the full order is scheduled over the next two years from NCI’s Riverside, California facility.

Carter Read, President of Newport Coachworks, said: “Our team worked 24/7 to reach this major milestone, in a record six months. It ensures we will deliver the finest quality shuttle buses available in the market today to Don Brown. Thanks to our internal development program and the close collaboration of our American suppliers, we have found new ways to significantly increase performance of existing technology delivering very unique products of superior quality, designed to fully satisfy our customer’s needs.”

The new models include:

  • The FREEDOM 40 and the FREEDOM 45: New generation bus line which is made of lighter, stronger materials, is built on the M2 Freightliner platform – popular in the high-end shuttle segment – where it is designed to carry between 39 and 51 passengers.
  • The ATLAS 34: built on the Ford F-550 platform using advanced proprietary techniques developed by NCI, utilising innovative new materials. It can carry between 27 and 31 passengers.
  • The PATRIOT 28: built on the Ford E-450, is the the smallest in the range. The shortest option seats up to 23 passengers and is designed for reliable cost-effective long-term use, with maximum up time. An extended version can seat up to 28 passengers.
