Roger Woollon of Woollons of Heathrow and AWC passed away in the early hours of Friday, 6 July 2018.
Roger started Woollons in 1974 as a car hire business and gradually transitioned into coach operating in the early 80s. He renamed the business to AWC in the early 90s ‘to get to the front of the phone book.’ At its peak, the company had a fleet of around 25 vehicles, ranging from eight to 74-seaters.
In November 1998, the business was closed and after a brief spell driving for Shearings Holidays, Roger left the industry. He leaves his ex-wife Marilyn and two sons David and Andrew, who operate Jeakins Coach Travel and Lianne Coaches.
A service will be held at 1200hrs at the Church of St Michael and All Angels, Forden (SY21 8NE) on Monday, 30 July, 2018.
