Mark Breslin, 2018’s UK Coach Driver of the Year, explains his approach to the job to Angela Youngman

Dressing up as a leprechaun or superhero is just part of a day’s work for coach driver Mark Breslin as he aims to make every journey memorable, recognising that for some passengers it may be the only holiday they have. Being named Top UK Coach Driver of the Year 2018 came as no surprise to all who knew him within the coach industry.

Attending the awards dinner and relaxing with other coach drivers he had known for many years at Stagecoach, York Pullman and other companies was an enjoyable experience. What came afterwards was unexpected, as Mark recalls: “I was surprised and chuffed to be in the first five. I never expected to get through to the top – that was an achievement.
