Stagecoach West has announced a number of improvements to its Oxford Tube service. The changes, designed to support passenger growth as the company prepares for its first normal summer following the pandemic, will come into effect on Monday 20 June.
The service will benefit from increased weekday evening journeys, additional afternoon peak journeys on Fridays and an extended service on Saturdays. Four additional vehicles have also been added to the fleet to facilitate the increase to services.
Rachel Geliamassi, Managing Director at Stagecoach West which operates the Oxford Tube said: “We’re delighted to be introducing these updates to our ever-popular Oxford Tube service as we see people flock back to the Capital and beautiful Oxford now we’re free from restrictions. These improvements to our timetable will provide customers with more departure choices and a greater degree of flexibility, making it easier for people to enjoy travel over the holiday period as the leisure market returns to normal.
“We’re really encouraged to see our existing customers return and are also excited to be welcoming new customers on board as confidence is growing with people getting out and experiencing new things.”
