Payzone has signed a long-term contract with National Express to provide coach ticketing services to customers in Payzone’s stores across the UK.
Alongside a commission structure, Payzone said its retailers will benefit from the uptick in footfall and basket spend as new and existing customers come in store to purchase coach tickets. As lockdown restrictions continue to ease, Payzone believes its retailers are well placed to capitalise on the expected growing demand for travel ticketing services.
Customers who want to purchase a ticket using cash will be able to do so at selected Payzone stores or Post Office branches. The contract award marks a milestone for the combined Post Office and Payzone networks, following the success of tie-ups with British Gas, Scottish Power Smart Metering and Jersey Electricity, the payment provider said. Simon Lambert, Commercial Director for Payzone Bill Payments Limited, said: “The National Express brand is well known across the UK, so we are thrilled to be partnering with them and expanding their offer into the Payzone estate. This partnership will now see a UK-wide service operating through our combined Payzone and Post Office network. National Express will complement our existing transport ticketing portfolio and will support footfall and basket spend for Payzone retailers at a pivotal time in the UK’s roadmap out of lockdown.”
John Boughton, Commercial Director at National Express UK Coach said: “Joining forces with Payzone provides our customers with even more choice by allowing them to purchase tickets at a time and location convenient to them. We look forward to a mutually beneficial and successful partnership.”
