Taking over one of Arriva’s double-deckers, the police have been undertaking bus patrols, and have already managed to prevent a potential assault after they found a man who was carrying a hammer on a bus.

Wakefield Express reported that Arriva Yorkshire has even helped one of its drivers to train as a Policing Special Constable through the Employer Support Policing (ESP) scheme.

The ‘Trojan bus’ has been commended for its success in reducing crime and catching those committing criminal offences.
