Record numbers of representatives from independent bus operators attended the 2013 ALBUM Conference  at the De Vere Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham.
Hosted and organised by the  Nottingham City Transport, the theme of this year’s conference was “Technology – Get on Board, the Route to Success”. The 250 delegates heard from a range of high profile speakers on the various ways which they can enhance their business by embracing technology. Their presentations proved to be thought provoking and stimulated lots of debate.
The event also attracted over twenty sponsors, a broad mix of trade suppliers, and over 50 exhibitors at the trade exhibition including 12 bus displays.
Comedian, writer and performer Barry Cryer MBE entertained delegates on the final evening. There was also a performance by Simon & Garfunkel tribute band Bookends.
Over the two days there were also various charity fund raising activities in aid of the conference’s chosen charity, Muscular Dystrophy. These included donations from delegates as well as an auction of prizes donated by sponsors and exhibitors which raised over £6,000.
“The Conference was a great success,” said Mark Fowles,MD of Nottingham City Transport. “I was delighted to see so many people attending and the feedback has been tremendous. I would like to thank Nicola Tidy, NCT’s marketing director and her team for organising the event and also all the sponsors and exhibitors for their supported too.”
