Peter Jackson reports on Road Tech’s annual press day, this time held digitally
Road Tech is a name synonymous with the coach and bus industry here in the UK. Its software (and more recently hardware) products are currently used by 8,500 customers across different sectors, though passenger transport has always been a key part of its operations.
Today, its 85 staff members work to develop and enhance five core products: Tachomaster, Falcon Tracking, Roadrunner, Checkmaster and Predrive. It was Tachomaster that was to take centre stage at this year’s press briefing, however, the tachograph analysis software having been launched 15 years ago this year. Since picking up its first customers back in 2006, Tachomaster has analysed over 240 million driver cards, charts and vehicle downloads, which Road Tech says makes it the market leader.
The challenge for the Radlett, Hertfordshire-based firm now is maintaining that reputation; technology nowadays develops at such a rate that standing still is not an option. That’s why every year the company hosts a press briefing event, bringing us up to speed on the latest enhancements made to its range of products.
Tachomaster received six new features for this year, all of which are aimed at making operators’ lives easier by streamlining critical processes – and the company’s other products have received enhancements too.
