Chrome Yellow Corporation, a company based in Denver, Colorado, is transforming school buses into moving homes.n, the company initially started out managing operations for Bus to Show, a non-profit bus company. Since 2014 the company has been designing living spaces for all different sized school buses, which are called ‘skoolies’ by its customers.

The price range for the buses varies. For a small bus the cost is around $25,000-$35,000, whilst a large bus can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Accompanying their home building business, the company also renovates mobile business buses.

Speaking to WJBF’s Channel 6 News, Charles said: “It’s definitely become more of what I think you would call a movement.”

Talking about why he founded the company, he said: “I was looking for a place to live and really kind of missed out on the housing market. I just wasn’t really finding anything I could afford,” said Charles. “I decided to take the money I had and build a school bus out for myself.”
