Seaford & District has announced that following the withdrawal of the current open-top service, operated under the City Sightseeing brand by Bath Bus Company, a new direct replacement service will commence operation in March in time for the 2016 Spring and Summer season.

The hop on, hop off tour will utilise open top double-decker buses and will operate daily every 30 minutes on a circular route serving Beachy Head, Birling Gap and other local attractions.

David Mulpeter, Proprietor of Seaford & District, said: “We have been able to react quickly and step in at short notice to continue the operation of this popular local Sightseeing Tour and I am delighted that the previous staff team members have decided to come on board with us to help build the new service and new brand.”

To operate the new service, Seaford & District will acquire three vehicles. The operator expects that one will definitely by a former Brighton & Hove open-top East Lancs Trident, converted to be DDA compliant, while for the other two, it is looking into Olympians. The company is also looking to augment the service with vintage specials, such as its 1960s ex-Eastbourne open topper.

Prices are still to be confirmed, but likely to start from £10 for a 24 hour ticket.
