Seaford & District’s (S&D) Macmillan Charity Running Day on August Bank Holiday Monday raised £3,282.70, smashing the £2,500 target that had been set. S&D’s Proprietor Dave Mulpeter had decided to hold the event as a way of showing his support for the charity which has supported his wife Angela during her treatment for the illness. Delighted by the response, he would like to thank all those who contributed to the day’s success and made donations.

Buses ran free on a half hourly frequency across two routes, S&D’s established summer 124 between Lewes and Eastbourne and a service created especially for the day, the 123 linking Lewes with Seaford. As well as S&D’s own heritage fleet, vehicles were made available by, amongst others, Brighton & Hove Buses, Stagecoach South, Worthing-based Southdown Historic Vehicles and ByeWays Vintage Bus Hire of Aldington, Kent.
