MD Mark Broughton calls it ‘fitting start to 50th year celebrations’
Sleafordian Coaches welcomed North Kesteven District Council Leader, Mrs Marion Brighton, and fellow councillors and officials from the Strategic Planning Department on January 29.
The visit is one of a number the local authority has instigated with local businesses over recent months ‘to establish closer links at the highest level between the council and the local business community; to share experience of successes and difficulties; and promote dialogue in important issues and concerns.’
Cllr Brighton said: “We do hope, over time, this direct and more dynamic contact will enable the council to be more responsive to the needs of businesses and by understanding your aspirations and your problems we will be able to represent the needs of local businesses more effectively both at a regional and a national level.”
Sleafordian MD Mark Broughton gave a presentation explaining how the business had developed since its inception in 1964 and the visitors were then given a tour or the familyrun firm’s premises.
Mark told CBW: “It was a fitting start to our 50th year trading celebrations. I gave a presentation on how the company came into being and how it has developed into the operation Sleafordian is now.
“We are very proud of the area we serve and this meeting gave us the perfect opportunity to give not only our own thoughts as directors of the company on the major changes which are due to happen within our town over the next couple of years, but those of our staff as well – who had been canvassed in advance for their views.”
